MAJOR GRANTS RECEIVED BY THE WASHINGTON HEALTH FOUNDATION
One of the ways that the Washington Health Foundation leveraged its opportunities to improve health for the people of Washington was through the receipt and management of grants provided by other organizations. While the bulk of the Foundation’s programs and activities were financed through its own funds, these grants allowed the Foundation to extend its work into some substantive areas of interest, and at times in a bigger way. In many cases, the Foundation needed to provide some of its own funding for these grants, and in almost all cases, it absorbed much of the additional administrative costs for managing these grants, including additional record keeping and audit requirements.
The following is a listing of most of the major grants received by the Washington Health Foundation since the early 1990s. Most of the activities referenced can also be found in the Summary List of Major Programs or Activities. Over time, more extensive reports on the individual bodies of work will be incorporated into this website.
It should be noted that the Foundation also received an assortment of smaller grants and sponsorships from various organizations to help fund and extend its work. WHF thanks all these contributors, and encourages new prospects to contact the WHF Board with new opportunities.
