WASHINGTON HEALTH FOUNDATION’S HEROES OF HEALTH CARE

From 2000 to 2011, the Washington Health Foundation honored Heroes of Health Care— Washingtonians who were leading the way in advancing the mission and vision of the Foundation by their actions and leadership.  The number of Heroes varied by year, as did the specific categories of the awards.  The core slate of annual awards included strategic principles and values of the Foundation: Leadership, Collaboration, Innovation, and Lifetime Achievement.  In 2005, the Foundation began to recognize Healthy Living and Healthy System Heroes consistent with a core message of its innovative Healthiest State in the Nation Campaign.  Heroes by year noted below, with links to written, video or audio descriptions of their award where available, as well as notation, where appropriate, of their principal city and organization affiliation within Washington.
